Based on widely existed goaf in Shanxi Province, with collapse danger when gas pipeline crossing up from goaf, surface deformation monitoring and countermeasures in advance were needed. A gas transmission pipeline engineering of Zuoyun county of Datong city was taken as example, damage of gas pipeline, surface deformation monitoring and countermeasures were introduced. Fracture plugging and treatment of hole pulp were adopted based on different subsidence, preventing water from entering the soil, with good effect.
