Belt conveyor was one of the main equipments in coal mine production and transportation, its performance and reliability directly affected efficiency of coal production. Through the study of existing problems in the production and transportation, a design of mult-driving coal mine belt conveyor with PLC variable frequency control was provided, which had control system wirh protection and alarm functions of start and stop, overvoltage protection,over temperature, coal pile, skid, broken belt and so on. The result showed that reliability and power imbalance of the conveyor belt were improved.
