High salt wastewater produced by coal chemical production is usually discharged directly as clean water,but in recent years,not only is required to meet the discharge standard,but also should be recycled as much as possible.Present treatment methods of coal chemical industry wastewater with high salt were briefly described, which were electrolytic process,ion exchange, membrane separation method,biological treatment method,multi-effect evaporation and crystallization desalination method. The multi-effect evaporation and crystal desalination method and its application were introduced emphatically.It was pointed out that the multi-effect evaporation and crystal desalination method has the advantages of mature technology, being used to treat wide range of wastewater, small footprint,fast processing speed and energy saving etc., so it has great prospects in the treatment of high salt wastewater in coal chemical industry.
