In order to determine the effective discharge radius of gas drilling in the local outburst prevention measures of Sihe Coal Mine, COMSOL simulation and field measurement methods were used to study the variation law of effective discharge radius of gas drilling with discharge time and drilling diameter, and the reasonable working surface point prediction method of Sihe Coal Mine was determined. The results show that the effective discharge radius of gas borehole is positively correlated with gas discharge time and borehole diameter, which is expressed as a power exponential function. The effective discharge radius of No.3 coal seam in the east well area of Sihe Coal Mine can be accurately determined by using Φ75 mm borehole and 8 h discharge time, and the value is 1.5 m. The research results can provide an important reference for the treatment of local coal and gas outburst in mine operation.
