According to the working face articulation of Kaichuan Mine and the current situation of working face arrangement in No.5 coal seam mining area, the feasibility of increasing the inclined length of 5207 working face, from the original 177 m to 220 m, was explored. Through the analysis of the performance of the main supporting equipment in the working face and after the working face was lengthened to 220 m, it was concluded that the lengthening of the working face in No.5 coal seam mining area can not only bring considerable economic benefits to the enterprise but also relieve the tight working face connection.
