Simultaneous determination of 9 preservatives in food detergent by high performance liquid chromatography

It was established a method for simultaneous detection of 9 preservatives in food detergent by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Firstly, ethanol was added to the food detergent and remove the water in the sample by rotary evaporation. And then, the preservative in detergent was extracted by acetonitrile in saturated n-hexane under acidic condition. Finally, the extracting solution was centrifuged, rotary evaporated and metered volume by methanol. The methanol-0.02 mol/L ammonium formate solution was used as the mobile phase. The preservatives were separated by C18 column (250 m×4.6 mm, 5 μm of particle size), and detected by UV detector. The detection wavelengths were 210, 230, 254 and 280 nm. The method has a good linearity in the range of 2 ~ 200 mg/kg (r2 > 0.999), and the LOD was between 0.2 ~ 0.5 mg/kg. Three spiked spikes (2, 10 and 100 mg/kg) were added according to the established method. The recoveries were 71.9% ~ 107.2%, and the RSD were 3.66% ~ 8.85%. The method is simple in operation and low in cost, and is suitable for detecting preservatives in food detergents.
