According to the geological conditions of Shengli Mine, with FLAC3D numerical simulation software, the fully mechanized mining equipment selection of 4021 working face of the mine the numerical simulation of working face were carried out, the distribution characteristics of stress and deformation of surrounding rock in the mining process were analyzed. The results were as follows: stress concentration would occur before and after working face advancing, with the increasing of working face advancing stress, when working face advancing 30 m, it tended to be stable and finally stabilized in the range of 4-5 MPa; the range of stress reduction area in front of working face was about 0 ~ 3 m, and the range of stress value about 2 ~ 3 MPa; the range of stress rise area 3 ~ 20 m norm in front of working face. Within the perimeter, the stress value was in the range of 3 ~ 9 MPa, of which the peak stress was about 9 MPa, about 5 m in front of the coal wall, and gradually recovered to the original rock stress was beyond 20 m. The maximum mining influence area in front of the working face was about 20 m, so the advance support area should be 20 m.
