To address the common issues of conservative selection, seal failure, and vibration cavitation of cooling water pumps for coal chemical gasifiers (such as coil cooling water pumps, burner cooling water pumps, and boiler water circulation pumps) under high-temperature, high-pressure, and long-term operation conditions, the operational reliability, energy efficiency, and economic benefits of the equipment through systematic optimization research were aimed to enhance. It was determined that single-stage single-suction cantilever centrifugal pumps were the preferred pump type by conducting precise condition analysis. The optimization system covering design, verification, and engineering application was established by integrating computational fluid dynamics (CFD) hydraulic optimization, high-stiffness rotor dynamics design, and hierarchical material selection based on failure modes. Typical engineering applications show that the optimized pump sets operate stably, with motor power reduced by more than 10%. The Lianyungang project was taked as an example, a single pump saves approximately 240,000 kW·h of electricity annually, equivalent to 153,600 yuan in electricity costs, and maintenance time is shortened to less than 2 hours, significantly improving the long-term operational reliability of the gasification unit.
