To solve the problems of roadway deformation control, filling process and working face advancement during the gob-side entry retaining process in No.090515 Face of Duanwang Coal Industry, a study on the strata behavior law of gob-side entry retaining was carried out. No.090515 Face of No.8+9 coal seam was taken as the research object, the method of combining on-site strata pressure observation, theoretical analysis and on-site application was adopted to systematically study the surrounding rock activity law before and after the entry retaining and mining. The study revealed the phased law of strata behavior in gob-side entry retaining, identified the deficiencies of the existing support parameters, and the proposed optimization schemes of delayed strengthening support and hydraulic fracturing roof cutting and pressure relief effectively controlled the roadway deformation and improved the safety of entry retaining. The research results provided a theoretical basis and practical reference for the gob-side entry retaining projects of other working faces in No. 8+9 coal seam of Duanwang Coal Industry, and solved the practical problems of tight mining and excavation succession and resource loss in the coal mine.
