To ensure the normal excavation of the No.1206 large-section open-off cut in Huacuotan Mine, theoretical analysis and simulation studies were conducted on the damaged zones and stress concentration areas of the open-off cut. The study examined the shear failure mechanism of roof bolts and cables under varying coal seam dip angles, revealing that as the dip angle increased, the deformation and damage of the surrounding rock in the backfilled roadway became more pronounced, leading to reduced stability. By investigating the deformation patterns of roadways beneath closely spaced goafs and surrounding rock control techniques, the stability of the roadway was enhanced through full bolt-and-cable support for the roof. Combined with mine pressure monitoring data, the use of full bolt-and-cable roof support reduced roof subsidence by approximately 35% and sidewall displacement by about 27%, ensuring safe and efficient roadway excavation.
