Study on the width of narrow coal pillars along the thick coal seam in the gob-side entry

Abstract: The reasonableness of the coal pillar retention parameters in the integrated working face is related to the stability of the roadway surrounding rock and the loss rate of coal resources, which is one of the parameter indicators that need to be studied in the integrated work. With the engineering background of 8261 working face of Yangdong Mine, 3 aspects of theoretical analysis, previous research results and engineering analogy were taken to study the feasibility of small coal pillar and reasonable parameters of coal pillar width. After analysis, the width of the small coal pillar at the working face was determined to be 8 m. The practical application showed that the technology can realize the effective support of the pillar to the surrounding rock and guarantee the safe mining requirements in the working face.
