In view of the poor underground personnel safety monitoring system in Shitai Mine, specific functional requirements of underground personnel monitoring system were proposed, and the design of overall architecture of underground personnel safety monitoring system as well as the design of hardware and software were carried out. The practical results showed that the designed underground personnel monitoring system was stable, reliable and anti-destructive, which achieved the initial design requirements and improved the operational safety of underground personnel.
