In order to further improve the operation efficiency of the scraper conveyor and reduce the energy consumption, the SGZ1000/1400 scraper conveyor of Xinjing Company is taken as the research case. In view of the need to adjust the operation speed in real time according to the coal quantity, the intelligent control system architecture and operation process of the scraper conveyor are built by integrating the technologies of binocular vision, digital speckle projection and PID fuzzy control. From the measured results, after the application of the system, the power consumption per ton of coal can be reduced by about 33 % under the premise of unchanged traffic volume, which basically takes into account both efficiency and energy consumption, and has certain application value.
