In this paper, a systematic comparative study was carried out on two common types of fixtures in wire rope tensile test-screw tightening fixture and wedge self-tightening fixture. By designing a control experiment, the wire rope samples of the same specification were used. Under the same test conditions, two kinds of fixtures were used for tensile tests. The key indicators such as maximum breaking force, data dispersion, fracture morphology and force-displacement curve were recorded and analyzed. The research results show that compared with the screw tightening fixture, the wedge self-tightening fixture has significant advantages in the stability and repeatability of the test data and the reflection of the real breaking force of the wire rope, and the data accuracy is higher. This study provides theoretical basis and data support for the scientific selection of wire rope tensile testing machine and the optimization of test specifications in the field of coal mine equipment.
