The dewatering technology of gasification fine slag and its application in plate and frame diaphragm presses were studied. The fine slag has a high carbon content (30%~50%) and a high porosity, making it difficult to dewater and resulting in large quantities. The various dewatering technologies, including vacuum belt filters, plate and frame diaphragm presses, and vertical automatic presses were compared. The advantages, disadvantages, and applicable ranges were analyzed. The plate and frame diaphragm press has shown significant results in a coal chemical enterprise in Guangxi, reducing the water content of fine slag from 80% to 31% and achieving resource utilization, saving costs for the enterprise and reducing environmental pollution. It was pointed out that efficient, energy-saving, and intelligent dewatering technologies are the future development direction for gasification fine slag treatment.
