Based on the calculation of fault waterproof pillar mainly depending on calculator, with low efficiency and frequent mistakes, by using VISUAL BASIC language, the prevention and control of water management software was formed and developed. The software showed the needed parameters, automatically calculated the waterproof coal pillar, the safety thickness of water-resisting layer and the result of product water, which ensured the accuracy of the calculation, improved the working efficiency and the prevention and control of water management level.
