The dry digestion of human hair, and the content of heavy metal lead in human hair was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) and hydride atomic fluorescence method. The samples were ashed at 550 ℃ for 1.5 h. The recovery rate, detection limit and relative standard deviation of atomic absorption and hydride atomic fluorescence were 94.16%~103.46% and 93.22%~105.14%, 3.97 μg·g-1 and 0.0020 μg·g-1, 4.39% and 6.09%, respectively. Since the lead content in human hair is trace, it is recommended to use hydride atomic fluorescence method for the determination of trace lead in human hair.
