The composition of cephalosporin antibiotic wastewater is complex and it’s more difficult to treat it. According to the composition and property of the wastewater, the process of reduced pressure distillation, extraction and rectification were used to recycle organic base with economically valuable. The optimal process parameters were determined. The experimental results show that the COD treatment rate in wastewater can reach 75%, toluene dosage, sodium hydroxide dosage and extraction time are the key factors affecting the yield of organic base. The optimized process conditions are that 2.5 m3 of toluene is added to each batch of wastewater, the sodium hydroxide input is 580 kg, and the extraction time is 40 min. The total recovery rate of organic base is up to 52% and the purity is over 99%. The treatment process is simple and convenient, the equipment is easy to operate and runs stably.
