Jurassic coal seams are widely distributed in northwest China, whose types of water disaster come from sandstone water inrush above the roof of coal seams. Evaluating drainage of sandstone aquifer, and preventing sandstone water are of great significance for guiding safe mining. Bojiang Haizi Mine was taken as an example, to analyze and evaluate effects of the draining water through some methods such as the working area from the residual water volume of a single exploration hole, the static reserves of the overlying aquifers, the comparison of the water output from the inspection drill holes, the low resistance area of the electrical method, and the residual water head. The results showed that all index needed the requirements except for the residual head, and the designed measurement for No.1 mine area drainage water was given, which provided an important guarantee for the safe mining of other work faces.
