The magnetic organic attapulgite are synthesized by magnetic γ-Fe3O4 and cetylpyridinium bromide(CPB) in a synergistic manner to overcome the shortcomings of simple organic modification and solve the problems of separation and recycling. The prepared adsorbent was used for the adsorption separation of the active printing and dyeing wastewater simulated by methyl orange, combined with thermodynamic and kinetic calculations to study its adsorption mechanism and its regeneration by using various methods. The experimental results show that the prepared nano-magnetic organic modified attapulgite overcomes the defect of difficulty in precipitation recovery and separation of common organic modified attapulgite, achieves the effect of saving cost and time, and solves the problem of separation, recovery and reuse of adsorbent. The prepared nano-magnetic organic modified attapulgite has strong adsorption decolorization capability and good adsorption capacity, and it has a wide application in wastewater treatment.
