VE succinate (VES) was synthsized by esterification of vitamin E with succinic anhydride using acetone as solvent, 2-(N, N-dimethylamino) propylamide as catalyst. The effects of the ratio of succinic anhydride and VE (A), the amount of catalyst (B), the reaction temperature (C) and the reaction time (D) on the conversion of VE were investigated by using the response surface test designed by DX8.0 statistical analysis software at 4 factors and 3 levels. The results show that the optimum process conditions are A [2.0( w / w)], B [2.45(mL / g)], C[41(℃) ], and D [4.2(h)], i.e., the amount of succinic anhydride is 20 g in 40 g the raw material, the catalyst amount is 2.45 mL, the reaction temperature is 41℃, and reaction time is 4.2 h. Under these conditions, the best esterification rate is 95.9% prediction model, and 95.2% through prediction model and verification test. Under the optimized technological conditions, by single factor experiment using catalysts triethylamine, ethylenediamine and 2-dimethylamino. The esterification rate of the product is 92.0%, 91.3%,95.2% propionamide respectively.
