Total organic carbon ( TOC ) was used to indicate the content of organic matter in soil. The accurate determination of TOC in soil is important to study carbon transformation of the soil and to adjust and optimize the soil management. The soil samples were treated with acid to remove inorganic carbon, the TOC standard curve was drawn by the TOC-Solid model of the total organic carbon analyzer, and the soil national standard substance GSS-1~16 was determined. The precision and accuracy of the method were verified. The content of TOC in soil samples with high chlorine content was compared with potassium dichromate volumetric method and infrared carbon sulfur analyzer. The TOC analyzer is easy to operate with little interference and low detection limit. The utility model has the advantages of good precision and accuracy, reliable results, and is suitable for the determination of TOC in soil.
