In order to study damage range of surrounding rock in fault location under process of Zhangjiazhuang roadway excavation, numerical simulation method was adopted. With purpose of ensuring accuracy of numerical simulation results, method of drilling core sampling was used to analyze lithology of roof and floor?in roadway. At the same time, the measurement of density, internal friction angle, shear modulus, volume modulus and adhesion force of various rock strata were carried out. The results showed that damage range of surrounding rock on hanging wall of the fault was larger than that at the footwall under condition of roadway crossing fault; and roadway surrounding rock displacement on hanging wall of the fault was larger than that at the footwall.
