In order to analyze surrounding rock deformation and roadway support effect in rapid excavation process of soft rock section in 13101 fully mechanized mining face, field measurement method was used to monitor and analyze roadway surface displacement and roof separation. The results showed that deformation mainly occurred within 7 d after excavation, accounting for about 70% of total deformation of roadway; the second day after excavation was the peak velocity of deformation of surrounding rock, average velocity peak of two sides and roof displacement deformation were about 12 mm and 11 mm respectively. Comparing with historical monitoring data, it was clear that effect of this rapid excavation support technique was good.
