The content of carbon dioxide in coal carbonate has nothing to do with coal quality, but it affects the coal volatile matter yield, carbon content in accuracy calorific value determination and the measured calorific value of coal, so when the carbon content of carbon dioxide in carbonate is more than 2%, the accurate measurement of carbon dioxide content is needed, for calibration. Volatile yield of raw coal and floated coal help conducts preliminary judgment of carbon dioxide in carbonate of coal.
