In view of the two Ordovician limestone water outburst problems ( peak 243 m3/h, stable 210 ~ 220 m3/h ) in the mining process of No.12914 Face in the east well of Gequan Mine, the water inflow was reduced to 73 m3/h through the ground directional horizontal branch hole grouting technology, combined with aggregate composite grouting and dynamic monitoring. In the unmined area, the underground verification hole met the requirements after regional control coverage, which had safe mining conditions. This paper systematically analyzed the hydrogeological characteristics, the causes of water outburst and the control technology. And the collaborative control mode of "ground deep source plugging + underground verification and reinforcement" was put forward. The engineering practice showed that the technology could realize the effective plugging of vertical water flowing fractures and the radical control of Ordovician limestone water outburst, which provided a reusable technical path for the prevention and control of similar mine water disasters.
