In order to explore the occurrence of goaf and water accumulation in the west of Kaichuan Mine, the ground transient electromagnetic detection technology was used to detect the location and range of water accumulation in the goaf of the target area. By analyzing the cross section of the apparent resistivity and the bedding slice diagram, the electrical reflection of the apparent resistivity anomaly area caused by the goaf and accumulated water area in goaf was relatively obvious. The transient electromagnetic method and the induced polarization method were used to verify each other, and the location, range and depth of accumulated water area in goaf were analyzed and explained. According to the results report, the verification and drainage measures were taken in advance for the goaf, which effectively eliminated the threat of water damage and reduced the risk of water damage in the future mining project. The application received good economic and technical effects.
