Based on bad working environment,  scraper conveyor always had some failures and needed to shut down to?make an overhaul in productive process, which affected production efficiency and safety seriously. Through analysis and research of common fault of scraper conveyor, online monitoring system of faults was proposed, which could monitor automatically running state of scraper conveyor in operational process. Operation troubles could be found in advance to make timely maintenance, which improved production efficiency of coal mine and mining safety.
