To address the rock burst hazard caused by hard and thick roof hanging in gob-side roadways of deep thick coal seams,No. 140203 Face of Yangchangwan Mine was taken as the engineering background, and seismic CT inversion technology was used to conduct quantitative and visual evaluation on the pressure relief effect of roof cutting by deep-hole blasting. Based on the propagation law of seismic waves, a comprehensive evaluation model of rock burst risk was established using P-wave velocity, wave velocity anomaly coefficient and wave velocity gradient coefficient, to compare and analyze the stress state and rock burst risk of the monitoring area before and after roof cutting. The results showed that after pressure relief, the P-wave velocity of coal and rock mass decreased by 12.5%~22.2%, the wave velocity anomaly coefficient and gradient coefficient dropped significantly, and stress concentration and mutation were effectively alleviated. The rock burst risk index decreased from the peak value of 0.73 to 0.2~0.4, and the whole area changed from medium-weak rock burst risk to weak rock burst risk. Seismic CT inversion can accurately verify the effect of roof cutting and pressure relief, providing a technical basis for rock burst prevention and pressure relief in similar gob-side roadways of thick coal seams.
