Focusing on the challenge of controlling the surrounding rock in deep high-stress roadways in Wuyang Mine, the characteristics of rock mass failure under different lateral pressure coefficients were analyzed through UDEC numerical simulation. An innovative non-uniform strength targeted support technology was proposed. By optimizing the layout of bolts and cables, the support schemes before and after optimization were simulated and compared in UDEC, significantly improving the support effect. Industrial tests demonstrated that the application of non-uniform strength targeted support technology effectively controlled the deformation of the surrounding rock in the engineering site. The movement of the sidewall decreased from 2 439 mm to 1450mm, a reduction of 40.5%. The force on the cables eventually stabilized within the range of 243~285kN, and the deformation of the surrounding rock was effectively controlled, with a significant improvement in the integrity of the roof. This study provides an important technical support for the safe and efficient mining of deep coal mines.
