The roadway intersection has a large span, and it is prone to large deformation in the case of weak surrounding rock, which has a serious impact on production. Based on the engineering background of No.2 return airway in the east wing of Gaojiazhuang Mine, the control difficulties of the intersection were put forward, and the problems existing in the traditional support scheme were analyzed. The intersection was regarded as a variable cross-section fixed beam, and a mechanical analysis model was established. Taking tensile stress and shear stress as parameters, the judgment criteria of different failure modes of the intersection were proposed, and the control method was proposed. The bolt-mesh-shotcrete coupling support scheme was determined, which effectively ensured the stability of the intersection and provided reference for the control of the intersection under similar conditions.
