This paper took Zhengli Coal Industry as the research object, and analyzed the feasibility of water-preserved mining in view of its complex geological and hydrogeological conditions, especially the water outburst risk of Ordovician limestone aquifer in coal seam floor. By calculating the water outburst coefficient, the water outburst threat of No.7 and No.9 coal seams was evaluated, and the limitations of technologies including mining under pressure and hydrophobic depressurization were discussed. Finally, it was proposed to use the ground regional control technology to ensure the safe production of the mine according to the slurry diffusion radius of 20 m, which pointed out the direction for the subsequent mine water prevention and control work.
