Abstract: With the increase of mine scale and coal mine production capacity, the roadway section also increased. Due to the large excavation span of the large section roadway, the surrounding rock was seriously damaged during the excavation process, and the excavation progress was slow. In order to solve the support problem of large section roadway in No.5-1 coal seam of Anshan Mine, taking into account the stability of roadway and the progress of the project, the composite beam theory was used to optimize the support scheme of large section roadway in No.5-1 coal seam of Anshan Mine, and numerical simulation and field measurement was used to verify it scientifically. The results showed that the optimized support scheme greatly reduced the damage degree of roadway surrounding rock, improved the surrounding rock environment, and obviously enhanced the stability of roadway. The optimization scheme increased the row spacing between bolt and cable, reduced the number of bolt and cable, and improved the excavation progress of roadway to a certain extent.
