Abstract: Based on the engineering background of northem two No.2 return air roadway of Gucheng Mine, the deformation mechanism of surrounding rock in deep soft rock roadway was studied through theoretical research and numerical simulation. The elastic-plastic mechanical model of surrounding rock was established based on the theory of elastic-plastic mechanics, and the radius and displacement of plastic zone were determined to be affected by in-situ stress, support resistance, internal friction angle and cohesion of surrounding rock, etc. Multi-factor analysis was determined by numerical simulation, and it was determined that the cohesion within 2.5MPa and the internal friction angle within 33 could control the deformation of plastic zone of roadway, when the cohesion and internal friction angle continued to increase,the control offect on plastic zone decreased.
