The geothermal well drilling construction project in the Hetao area was taken as an example, a geothermal well with a depth of 2 300 m was completed using a coreless drilling process with a three-tooth wheel bit and a high quality chemical mud positive circulation construction process. parameters such as permeability coefficient and influence radius were calculated from the pressure drop experiment, and the results showed that the sedimentary layer in the area was thick and highly mineralized, which was a high quality water for geothermal resources. This method provided an economic and feasible method for geothermal well construction in the western region.
