In view of the environmental pollution problems in the development of the traditional coal chemical industry, the methods and measures of green development of coal chemical industry were discussed and analyzed,which are coal-to-oil, coal-to-olefin, and coal-to-natural gas technologies, and the suggestions on effective ways to change China's energy structure and clean energy utilization were summarized. It is put forward although there are still some policy and technical mismatches at present in the coal chemical industry, improving industry standards and market system, carrying out technological innovation, improving the level of green development; and making products high-end and differentiated, China's modern coal chemical industry will move towards a healthy development path of high efficiency, environmental protection and green.
