Research progress of removing VOCs by molecular sieve adsorption method

Adsorption is an effective method to control the environmental damage of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).Molecular sieves have been paid more attention in the field of VOCs control because of its advantages such as uniform pore structure, regular pore size, larger surface area and better thermal stability. The research progresses on adsorption of VOCs by A, X, Y and ZSM type molecular sieves were summarized. The results show that the pore structure and surface properties of zeolite, silica-alumina ratio,thespecies,polarrty and hydrophilicity of VOCs have important effects on the adsorption properties of zeolite. The examples of industrial applications of molecular sieves were briefly described,and some uggestions for future studies and application of VOCs adsorption on molecular sieves were presented.
