Abstract

Serious environmental hazards have been caused by abusing of herbicides. The biotoxicity method of algae fluorescence detection herbicide has attracted extensive research interest because it is rapid, sensitive and easy to realize on-site and on-line monitoring, and has played a crucial role in herbicide detection. The research progresses of using algae chlorophyll fluorescence to detect herbicide biotoxicity were summarized. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of these methods were briefly reviewed, and the future research direction and development trend of algae chlorophyll fluorescence detection technology were prospected. In view of the severe situation of herbicide-contaminated water environment, the chlorophyll fluorescence kinetics technology has a great application potential in the field of environmental monitoring, which is helpful to establish the research technology of rapid on-site screening methods finally.
