Abstract The pyridine hydrobromide structure had been studied by infrared spectrum (IR spectrum). The absorption modes of pyridine hydrobromide were found,which are C=C stretching vibration mode (νC=C) and CH out-of-plane wagging vibration mode (δC-H). The thermal stability of pyridine hydrobromide were researched by variable temperature infrared spectrum (TD-IR spectrum). In the temperature range of 303 ~ 523 K, good thermal stability of pyridine hydrobromidel were found also. The paper demonstrated the key roles of TD-IR spectrum in the thermal stability analysis of important chemical intermediates (pyridine hydrobromide).
