The working face was subjected to heavy roof pressure during mining. Severe mine pressure behaviors were observed, and serious instability and deformation occurred in roadway surrounding rock. Support was difficult to implement. The roof was fractured during final mining, and working face withdrawal was hindered. To address the above problems, theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and field measurement were adopted in this paper. Combined with the specific engineering and geological conditions of No.3upper1106 Face in Gaozhuang Mine, temporary and permanent support schemes were designed for the roadway cross-section. Bolt parameters and influencing factors were analyzed through numerical simulation. The prearranged withdrawal channel was used to effectively prevent instability and failure of surrounding rock in the withdrawal channel. This research was of great significance for ensuring mining and final withdrawal of the working face with overlying hard and thick roof, and could be referenced and applied as guidance for mines under similar conditions.
