The coal mining enterprises personnel positioning system is the comprehensive application system through  integration of many hardware，auxiliary of specific software, could realize the automatic attendance, automatic tracking, first aid after disasters, daily management for the well personnel.The characteristics, composition and structure, working principle and main functions of the personnel positioning system were introduced. It was pointed out that the system had the reliability, real-time and security, was a powerful and actual production safety management platform, could realize the mine personnel positioning,  command rescue and relief in order to reduce disaster losses and casuaities, ensure the production safety of coal mining enterprises.
