Abstract: In order to effectively protect the surface buildings from damage, obtain the movement and deformation law of the surface of the mining area, and reasonably set up the protective coal pillars of the buildings in the mining area, this paper took No.201 face of Jinxinda Coal Industry as the research background, described in detail the setting and observation method of the surface displacement observation station, measured the movement and sinking amount of the corresponding surface strata of the working face, and summarized the movement and deformation law and characteristics of surface and rock strata in mining area. The practice showed that the maximum sinking amount of No.201 face surface tendency was 431 mm, and the maximum sinking amount of inclination was 432 mm. The sinking amount was stable after 2 to 3 months, which indicated that the mining of No.201 face had no obvious effect on the surface.
