Abstract: In order to ensure the safety production of No.15 coal seam under the influence of F14 fault in Shigang Mine, taking No.15212 fully mechanized mining face as the background, the width of waterproof coal pillar was studied. By means of data investigation, underground drilling and numerical simulation, the analysis showed that F14 fault belonged to weak water abundance and weak water conduction fault. It was suggested that the width of waterproof coal pillar of F14 fault was 30 m. Compared with the original design of 100 m wide waterproof coal pillar, it could increase the coal reserve by 454 000 t while ensuring the safety production of the working face, which had good economic and social benefits.
