Coal mines often have multiple areas for mining, with drainage system and subarea drainage system. Choosing a reasonable drainage system can ensure the reliability of drainage, reduce investment and save electricity consumption. According to the water volume and drainage conditions of the mine in the west area of Hongliulin Mine, and combined with the existing drainage system, three kinds of practical drainage solutions were proposed. Through economic and technical and reliability analysis, the advantages and disadvantages of each program were studied to determine a reasonable drainage program. The results of the study showed that the design of the drainage system in the pan area was subject to the drainage conditions, the existing drainage system of the mine, the surface water treatment system and other factors, and the design must be tailored to local conditions, which provided reference for other mines.
