In order to effectively reduce the problem of dust during transportation in mining areas, an environmentally friendly dust suppressant was prepared based on the theory of chemical free radical copolymerization. The optimal ratio of matrix starch, monomer acrylic acid, thickener sodium alginate and wetting agent sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate was discussed. The wettability, film hardness, microstructure and dust suppression effect of the dust suppressor were studied. The results show that the wettability of dust suppressant is better than that of water, which is conducive to wetting and bonding coal dust, forming a compact protective film to resist external damage, and the maximum pressure bearing capacity can reach 100 N; in addition, the dust suppressant can withstand the wind speed within 8 m / s, and the dust suppression effect can reach 90%. Finally, it is concluded that the dust suppressant is an ideal dust suppressant used to prevent the transportation of dust in the mining area.
