Water damage is one of the five major natural disasters of coal mines, which seriously restricts the safety of coal production. In the west of Changgou Mine 15110 working face, with goaf detected by surface three dimensional earthquake and water accumulation anomaly area detected by surface electric prospecting in No. 15 coal seam, there were two positive fault structures between the physical anomaly area and the face, and the water conductivity of the fault was unknown, which caused great safety hazards to the 15110 face recovery work. In order to eliminate the potential water damage and ensure that no water accident, two medium-length water release boreholes were constructed in the inlet roadway of the 15110 working face.
