In order to avoid the occurrence of roof caving accidents in coal mining face, the accident tree analysis method was used to find out the various factors affecting the roofing accidents, with systematic qualitative analysis of these factors. Through calculation, the structural importance of the nine basic events causing the roofing accident was obtained, and then the accident risk was analyzed and the law of the accident was got, and targeted preventive measures and solutions were proposed.
