Shuoli coal mine was an important kaolin mineral resource in Huaibei coal fields, but there was no systematic research on its occurrence characteristics. The occurrence characteristics was analyzed from aspects of strata, structure, magmatic rocks and so on, the sedimentary environment of the ore body was also discussed. The results showed that kaolin mineralized layer in Shuoli coal fields had obvious depositional characteristics of coal-bearing strata, which belonged to the lower Shihezi formation coal-bearing sedimentary system , that was known as progradational delta deposit caused by river rejuvenation. The deposit of ore body was controlled by geological structure to a great extent, but the intrusion of magmatic rock had little effect on the kaolin ore body.
