3-Chloro-2-hydmxypropy ltrimethylammonium chloride (CHPTMAC) was prepared with epichlomhydrin （ECH） and trimethylammonium（TMAC）as raw materials by one step method in the aqueous phase.The influence of seven catalysts of two types on the synthesis process was studied under the best condition, the content of primary product was analyzed by tritration, the structure of the primary product was characterized by fusing test point and IR. The results showed that KH-570 was the best catalyst in the catalytic synthesis of CHPTMA.
