In order to analyze and monitor surface deformation after 2103 working face mining in a coal mine, monitoring contents, instruments and process were designed in detail. Four monitoring results of strike and tendency observation lines showed that in strike observation line, maximum subsidence point was 1 point in former three times, and subsidence values were 132 mm, 133 mm, 214 mm respectively. In last observation, maximum subsidence point was 2 points and subsidence value was 210mm. While in tendency observation lines, maximum subsidence point was 13 points, and subsidence values were 100 mm, 107 mm, 202 mm, and 202 mm in particular. It was clear that maximum subsidence point in strike and tendency observation lines was mostly located near goaf center.
